Empowering individuals to preserve history
THE CHALLENGE
Creating a seamless, reliable user experience
The training team at Waddesdon needed a reliable Learning Management System to provide easy to access online training to its permanent, seasonal, and associate employees.
Prior to 2020, their online learning was provided by Litmos Heroes, however the experience had proved challenging, and their costs were about to rise significantly. Reaching out to Cortexa we began a series of meetings to establish core needs and to explore the various options.
Key Factors:
- Reliable online access both via desktop and across mobile devices
- Easy to navigate site with an uncluttered interface and tailored course catalogue
- Basic but dependable reporting system with email prompts for annual course reminders
- Simple back-office administration to manage course allocation and employees changes
THE SOLUTION
An intuitive, easy to use learning management system
After review, the Waddesdon project team selected a Moodle based LMS platform. This was considered to offer the best blend of functionality, intuitive interface, and simplicity of management. It was also appealing as it would offer an easy, low-cost transition to the more complex Totara solution in the future.
THE RESULT
Successful learning experience platform enhancing Waddesdon’s employees
In January 2020 the new Waddesdon LMS was launched, and responses are all very positive. They are expecting around 250 employees to access the site annually and plan to offer additional course content as the need arises.
“As a charity we’re always looking for great value, but we need our online training to be a beneficial asset and not a technical challenge. Cortexa has and continues to provide invaluable guidance and support, a refreshing and welcome change.”
